I'm sure it's been said before, but one of the reasons that Soriano has been in the leadoff spot is that piitchers tend to like to throw strike 1 with the first batter. He loves to look for a first pitch fastball to nail--it's like the one time in the game where he's pretty sure of what's coming and he has been a killer fastball hitter.

I'm 100% fine with this. I'm just glad there's an actual plan in place that isn't, "Let's load up on retreads and hope we get lucky." I'm a little tired of that plan.
