If they can get it done quickly, sure, but bankruptcy always complicates things because if a deal isn't done before they file (not likely), the judges will be all over it and have to approve the sale every step of the way, in addition to MLB. It might make it difficult to strip out the Comcast stake as well. It's just a massive headache for everyone.

Bankruptcy would be a huge hurdle. Not only would a judge have to approve the sale, but a committee of the Trib's creditors would as well.
If they can get it done quickly, sure, but bankruptcy always complicates things because if a deal isn't done before they file (not likely), the judges will be all over it and have to approve the sale every step of the way, in addition to MLB.
