<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->I understand that it's mostly on the players that aren't performing, but how does Hendry get no blame here? How have the above examples helped put this team in the position to win?<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
See, this drives me fucking nuts. Of course Hendry deserves SOME blame. So does Pinella. But as soon as I try to point out that they don't deserve anywhere near the amount of blame that fans assign them, suddenly my words are twisted into me saying they deserve NO blame.
-Hendry decided keeping Kerry Wood, while it would have made the fanbase jizz, would not be a good idea.
-Hendry decided NOT to trade Vitters and Marshall for Peavy.
-Hendry decided NOT to cut Angel Guzman (as more than one poster on this board suggested).
-Hendry decided cutting Chad fucking Gaudin wasn't going to destroy our staff.
-Hendry decided cutting Luiz fucking Vizcaino wasn't going to destroy our staff.
Every one of these moves had people screaming from the rafters. As of right now they seemed to have worked out OK. My point is not that Hendry is a genius. Personally, the Miles signing seems pretty indefensible. But on the list of reasons we are a .500 ball club, "Miles sucks" is pretty fucking low on the list. My point is that if Bradley hits .350, with 25 home runs, then Bradley had a great year. If he hits .250, with 10 home runs, then Hendry fucked up. The GM and Manager get very little credit when things are going well, and get far too much blame when things are going poorly.

I wish that I believed in Fate. I wish I didn't sleep so late. I used to be carried in the arms of cheerleaders.
