If Adam Dunn had done this (or Brian Giles, for that matter), we'd be hearing about how he cared more about getting a paycheck than about playing on a good (or better than SD, at least) team.
A non-Petco Peavy is not an elite arm and not worth the package of prospects or (mainly) the cash. If the Cubs are looking for pitching, they should go elsewhere.
