I find it hard to believe that KW would do that. In general the Sox front office doesn't like guaranteeing more than 3 years to any pitcher, and especially not at around $20 mil for that last year. I'd be shocked if that happened.

But won't they have a lot of egg on their faces if it becomes known that that's the reason the deal didn't go through?

There's nothing better than to realize that the good things about youth don't end with youth itself. It's a matter of realizing that life can be renewed every day you get out of bed without baggage. It's tough to get there, but it's better than the dark thoughts. -Lance
