Anybody seen anything on this?<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Yeah, there was something in the Trib or Sun Times about it today. Moorad said he would talk to the GM about it, and made some comment about how Peavy may not fit into the future of the franchise as they rebuild.

With the resurrection of Jake Peavy trade talks said to depend as much on the San Diego Padres' new ownership as that of the Cubs, new Padres CEO Jeff Moorad seemed to leave the door wide open on possible renewed talks during an XM radio interview.
"Peavy has been a terrific performer for the club. At the same time, I don't think any player is untouchable," Moorad said. "At some point, I am sure (general manager) Kevin Towers and I will visit about the issue, and Kevin will have a point of view and, frankly, I'll defer to it.
"I certainly want to be kept informed, but I think Kevin will have a perspective on the Peavy situation, and I'm really looking forward to hearing it."
And this is Moorad as quoted in the San Diego Union-Tribune: "It would be premature for me to say what is going to happen. The goal is to build this for the long term. I don't know how that impacts the Peavy situation. But we're going to do whatever we can to improve the team."
The Cubs' sale to Tom Ricketts and his family isn't expected to be finalized until at least mid-May, which could make the Cubs-Peavy issue the focus of the midsummer trading season if Ricketts has an appetite for the $63 million former Cy Young Award winner after spending $1 billion or so on the team, ballpark and cable share.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
