We got the email that 450 people are being let go. The good news is they are giving 6 months pay and medical as severance. Now, I just have to wait and see if I'm one of the unlucky ones.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
450? Holy crap! Dude...that's rough. How many people are in your firm?

Well, I made it through, but it was a brutal day. People I'd known for 8 years were let go. One guy, who made sure to call me every week I was out of the office recovering from my surgery last year, was let go. It was sad walking down the hall, watching people sobbing.
The 450 people let go were firm wide, and probably represented a little over 10 percent of the total workforce. The managing partner said that those would be the last layoffs, they are done, but if things continue this way for another 6 months or so, I could see this happening again.

I wish that I believed in Fate. I wish I didn't sleep so late. I used to be carried in the arms of cheerleaders.
