1) the fact that a Peavy pick-up looks suddenly really slim.

hendry and lou want a more balanced lineup. why is this so hard to grasp? derosa was the only righthanded hitter that had value/no no-trade clause/no burdensome contract. THATS why he was traded. basically they exchanged derosa for bradley.

You can have DeRosa and Bradley. In fact, you almost need DeRosa if you're going to have Bradley. Bradley will play in about half of our games and the options to play his position while he's on the DL look grim, at best.

Our options if Aram, Dlee or Harden wind up on the DL don't look too spectacular either. We're fucked if anyone gets hurt really with the way this team is currently built.

Yeah; except that we have like 8 studs that it would suck to lose and we can't replace. Most teams have 2 or 3.

exactly. the way our team is set, we have a current or recent all star at catcher, 1st, 3rd, left, and right. we have two in the rotation and our closer. thats 8 current or recent all stars. plus, both our 2nd basemen and our shortstop batted over .300. reed johnson was actually good last year, which i think some of you forgot. our #3 guy is all star calibre and our #4 is maybe the best #4 in baseball. our bullpen is solid.
and to boot, it's only january. even if we make no more moves by opening day, i guarantee we will at the break.

Yeah and in our division, we can afford to come out of the gate slowly. It sounds like the rest of our division is done shopping for anything significant, and none of them appear to be over an 80-85 win team at the moment. If it's not working, we'll make a move. We'll also have the ownership situation solved by then and might have some more money to work with if necessary.
