It wold be one thing to be signing him as a free agent, but to be giving up everything the Padres seem to be asking for seems ridiculous to me. I am with Cap on the sign Sheets noise.

i'll take a possible injury risk with peavy over a guaranteed injury risk with sheets. if the peavy thing falls through, i'd give sheets a shot, but only for one year.

I keep thinking we are owed a young stud cy young pitcher to make up for Himes criminal stupidity in letting 31 go to Atlanta, but then I remember that we are the Cubs and it scares the shit out of me. I will be okay with Peavy if it is just one of Marshall or Vitters, and the rest of our minor league system.
