You can't be serious. The WC isn't coming out of the Central.

Oh okay then, I guess I will see you all next year for spring training.

FWIW, the Cubs have the easiest remaining schedule of any WC contending team.

The second place team in the Central will finish farther out of the WC race than they will from first in their own division.

You get a new crystal ball or something?

I don't claim to know the future, but If I had to guess, I'd disagree with your proclamation. As it stands right now, it seems we have a better shot at the WC since the cardinals are so hot and we're 5 games behind them, but only 3.5 out of the WC.

I'd like to make the playoffs. I'd like to win the division. I'm not out of hope yet. Failing that, I'd like to win the WC. I'm just not optimistic. Not bereft of hope...but lacking optimism.

At this rate I want the Cardinals to win the fuggin division. It will make Joel Piniero's and Julio Lugo's and Colby Assmunch's playoff meltdown all the goddamned sweeter since the fucking Whitesnake-haired, red-shoelace-wearing, come to Chicago to see a real city, Arch-humping, Ted Drews-custard nuzzling, assoholic Cards fans will have been lulled into a sense of superiority.

I don't like Cardinals fans much.

Since this originally double-posted, I'd like to take this opportunity to extend the invitation to the entire city of St. Louis to lick my under-bally.

The 3 games we have with the cards will be the playoffs for us -- we have to win all 3 on the road.
Fat Bastard is an immensely obese, hardly able to walk (weighing a metric ton) gardener and henchman hailing from Scotland. His extreme size endows Fat Bastard with super-human strength as exhibited by his prowess in the Sumo ring from Goldmember. This makes him a formidable enemy for Austin Powers. Fat Bastard is noted for his foul temper, his frequent flatulence, his vulgar and revolting bad manners and his unusual eating habits, which include taste for Human infants (which he calls "the other other white meat") or anything that looks like a baby, e.g. small people. Fat Bastard has been a regular at Cub games since the early 80's when he tried several times (unsuccessfully) to eat the visiting San Diego Chicken.

Explain? I think the 2nd place team from the Central will not have the best record among NL 2nd place teams. I think it's win the division or watch from home.

I don't even want to think about it. Seems like every win in August has come in the 8th or 9th inning. I'm sure that isn't accurate, but it sure feels like it.

St. Louis is 6-50 when heading to the 9th either trailing or tied.

The Cubs are 10-52.

Hmm. I "enjoyed" a misspent year as a youth at SLU. I do enjoy me some Ted Drew[e]s, but I had to crap all over it to lend cultural believability and local flair. If I recall correctly, they serve a Cub-themed sundae on the days when the Cubs come to town.

Truth to tell, while it couldn't compare to Chicago deep-dish, I also kinda dig Imo's four-cheese thin crust pizza.

Still, I stand by my highly logical original premise, which is that people from St. Charles and Adam Wainwright need to get ass-fucked on Vandeventer by the Arch. Sideways.
