Friggin' Cardinals - Butcher - 08-16-2009

5-4 Padres, after a long ass rain delay. They go to the bottom of the 9th with that same score...

Heath Bell comes in, who has been solid all year.

- Ludwick singles.
- DeRosa grounds out. Ludwick to 2nd on the play. 1 out.
- Molina singles to tie it.
- Colby Fucking Rasmus hits a walkoff 2-run homer to win it.

Hello, 5 games back. We aren't winning this division. Not with the Cardinals winning seemingly every single game in come from behind heroic fashion like this.

Someone just fucking kill me now.

I'm afraid that it's just not our year. Too many injuries, weak hitting, blah, blah blah, etc.

There's still a chance the Cardinals could implode, but don't bet the farm on it.

Hope you're a football fan.

Winning the division hasn't mattered the last 2 years, AFAIK there is still a Wild Card.

The Cardinals inability to lose certainly is frustrating.

What is AFAIK?

Yeah...3 back in the Wild Card, but there are 4 teams ahead of us in the standings.

I thought for sure the Padres had this one locked up when Bell came in in the 9th. And that troll looking motherfucker had to hit the walkoff homer, too.

As far as I know.

Yes, we might snag the wildcard, but I'm not going to get my hopes up too high. I'm not counting us out, but I'm not making plans for the postseason either.

Friggin' Cardinals - Croz - 08-16-2009

How many fucking comeback wins have they had the past month??? Fucking insane.

I don't even want to think about it. Seems like every win in August has come in the 8th or 9th inning. I'm sure that isn't accurate, but it sure feels like it.

Last year should have been awesome

It was.

Until the playoffs started.

I was hoping that one would get called in the 8th due to the rain. I knew they would fucking win if it resumed.

No chance that game was going to get called.

Maybe there could have been a tornado? Or a flash flood? Maybe gophers could've destroyed the field? I was hoping for anything, dude.

You can't be serious. The WC isn't coming out of the Central.

FWIW, the Cubs have the easiest remaining schedule of any WC contending team.
