I missed where Russell was promoted to Iowa. Was that to replace Hart?
Well, I guess it can't be, based on his ERA.

Only because Ascanio has pitched well and Patton has shown some promise lately. I think Hart will pitch well while he's up here. He's the hot hand. His numbers have been ridiculous the last month or so.

Other than throwing hard, Hart has still never showed me anything that makes me think he is a big league pitcher. He pitched into very good luck in his short stint in 2007 and then has looked awful ever since, both in spring and in the regular season. I expect he will be back down soon.

His cut fastball is supposed to be devastating and he only learned to throw it two years ago. I also remember him having a pretty good slider when he was up at the end of 2007.
I think people need to remember that pretty much anything is possible. No, it's not likely that a player will turn into an amazing pitcher at 26 years old, but it's not impossible.
AAA success is not exactly condusive to major league success, but his numbers over the last 6 weeks or so have been unreal. He has to be doing something right and if the Cubs can catch him in a groove and take advantage of it, I'm more than happy with that.

He's pretty unbelievable. Statistically, he's better than Samardzija or Cashner. I still don't know much about how scouts like his stuff.
