But he's too old to keep hitting over the 3 year deal!

How have we come to this conclusion so fast?

Because he has a ton left. He's going to make that deal worth it just by this season. He's been hitting better than anytime of his career the last few years, he's not just all of a sudden going to become a shit pile next season.

For a guy like yourself that (rightfully) preaches patience, I believe that we should wait to evaluate the deal well past the 9% that we have seen so far.

That's very fair. It's likely he'll start declining, but I don't think it will be enough where he's not a very productive major leaguer and very good run producer. I don't think he'll keep hitting quite like he is now either: .290, 35 homers maybe, 120 RBI is about what I'd expect this year.

My keeper league team continues to be a disaster. Jose Reyes goes on the DL now, joining Aramis. Those were 2 of my keepers.
And it's been a disastrous last day for the Rays. They lose Iwamura for the year, blow a 10-run lead to the Indians, and now Jason Bartlett goes on the DL.

Judging by the comments on this piece, Phillie fans aren't too upset...

QUOTE The Cardinals on Friday placed Greene on the 15-day disabled list because of social anxiety disorder. The move was retroactive to Thursday.
Advice: This could help explain Greene's struggles with his new team. He's batting .200.

So I guess Dunn wasn't improving defensively after all. Damn you fielding bible! 7 errors, 2 more tonight. Delmon Young(8) was the only outfielder in baseball to have over 7 errors last year.
Edit: 2 of those came at 1b I see, so 5 in the outfield.

He's still hitting the piss out of the ball, however.
.276/.410/.594
16 HR and 42 RBI
He really needs to find an AL team that he can DH for...

None of them wanted him for a measly $5 mill. Hard to figure.

I was surprised that a team like the Angels didn't consider him, especially after losing Anderson.
