Is Chris Robinson about to pull a Soto? The guy is all the sudden raking in Iowa after struggling through the minors. He's always been known as a plus defender, so it wouldn't be so bad if he turned out to be a good backup for Soto with great defensive skills.

It's early, but nice to see Robinson step up his game. I had high hopes for him when we got him from Detroit because he had a reputation as a high contact, great defensive catcher. I'd be pretty happy to get a really good defensive catcher to fill in for Soto every 5th or 6th game (although I'm very happy with Hill right now).

He's always been projected as a reliever, but the last two years they had him starting to let him work on his pitches. He's in the bullpen again this year.

Agreed. It's nice to see Ascanio and Cashner off to good starts. I really think Ascanio can be a good 6th-7th inning type still, but we'll see.

Actually, a fair amount of our prospects have high error totals this year including some of our top gloves. I'm wondering if they want the players to try to make any defensive play they possibly can, even if they would normally stick it in their back pocket.

I know for sure that Barney, Reynolds, and Colvin are all supposed to be very good defenders, so I'm not sure what to think on these high error totals.

Um... I think they just tell them to go out and play baseball. They don't want players getting in the habit of making dumb decisions anyway. Error totals are always high in the minors, especially on the left side of the infield.
