Outside of the double play in Game 3 in 2007, he pwned in the playoffs too.
I hate my pretentious sounding username too.

He seemed to fail at least a couple times with a runner on 3rd and less than 2 outs this past NLDS, and he booted the dp ball in game 2 that would've gotten us out of the inning IIRC. The Dodgers then went on to score 5 runs I believe. I don't want to look it up, I get sick just thinking about it.

I always loved DeRo, but he was as big of a reason as anybody for us getting swept these last 2 years as HTC pointed out recently. His homer in game one was great, but it was windblown, just sayin. I'm going to miss him for sure, but mainly because of his versatility. I think Fontenot's slash stats will be every bit as good, probably better.

I had the sound off, so I did not hear what they were saying, but they replayed Dunn's bad plays over and over. Even his screw ups and first from the prior game. I thought it was a bit overkill, considering the errors by Roberts and Jeter had way more impact on the scoring.
I like you guys a lot.

Japan and Korea have only lost 1 game combined against teams not named Japan or Korea in the history of both WBCs.

What makes them so "awesome" is that they prepare for this tournament like it means something, the US and Latin teams use it as a glorified spring training game.

The US and Canada could both play with more passion, but I think the Latin teams bring it. I think it's more that the US, Dominican and others try to hit gappers and homers, when the Asian teams do the little things, and take the big hits when they can.
Plus...leaving in Oswalt to rot doesn't help.

Any team that mostly consists of MLB players, doesn't "bring it." You can include, the US, Canada, Dom. Republic, Puerto Rico, and Venezuela . . . basically all the teams with the talent.

The spirit behind the Latin teams is there though. Of course I think it means more to Japan, Korea, and Cuba because they frankly do not have that big of an impact on the Major League level, and this their chance.

Spirit is great, but when half of the pitchers you can have opt not to come and no one trains prior to the actual tournament, it means nothing. The fact that they haven't sold out these games should tell Bud and the other fucks behind this just exactly what the public thinks about it.

Think most of it comes from that Japanese and Korean pitching are ready whereas the USA, Canadian pitchers aren't ready. Its spring training for them. What probably also needs to be done for the USA team is instead of fielding team of MLB superstars, instead have 8 positional players of superstars and then have a bench of utility guys and minor leaguers. That way your MLB guys aren't fighting for playing time.

Most countries: MLB first, WBC a far second.

Japan and Korea: WBC first, pro leagues a far second.

To be honest, I think USA, Canada, Dominican Republic - MLB first

All other countries - WBC first

WBC means a lot for Australian baseball I know that.
