Yeah I agree. I love both of those players but they're only 2b's and we already have 2 of those. We need some versatility.

Miles and Theriot will be fine, we don't need another SS unless one gets hurt. We also have Luis Rivas and Andres Blanco that will probably be in AAA that could fill in.

Either way, we need another middle IF, and preferably one that can hit a little and play SS.

I'm having a hard time remembering the last time we had a good shortstop.

I've heard that we are actively seeking Hudson. Maybe it's just another rumor, but I can see it.
Although I'd love to see Font get 500 AB's, maybe Font will be the DeRosa guy this year...I saw him play a pretty slick SS in AAA, and usually guys who can handle SS can play anywhere on the diamond (like 3B or OF).

Hudson is a switch-hitter, so we don't lose any lefty presence by adding him. He doesn't have a ton of speed, but it seems like he could probably be a nice option for lead-off hitter.
O-Dog? Interesting idea.
There's nothing better than to realize that the good things about youth don't end with youth itself. It's a matter of realizing that life can be renewed every day you get out of bed without baggage. It's tough to get there, but it's better than the dark thoughts. -Lance

Fuck. Remember when Dusty put Enrique in the starting lineup against the Yankees because "he's used to playing at Yankee Stadium?"

That man is such a moron.

When did we get Rivas?

He might be able to, but this is MLB not CSFBL. It's not easy moving to another position, even if you have the talent to play there. Kosuke for example looked lost at times in CF last year, even though he's an outstanding outfielder. It takes awhile getting used to a position, something you'd definitely have to practice everyday in Spring Training. Maybe he can do it, but I don't see the Cubs planning on it. He's played 2 games in LF in the minors, which he's been in since 2002. He's played 62 games at 3b, but with a .933 fielding %.
