Still happy with the Kimbrel trade, thank you very much.

Was going to mention this earlier, not that I wish ill on him but hadn't realized he's been bad.  It felt like he was starting to show warning signs when he was still here.

Or is it that Kimbrel needs a steady routine and when disrupted, his results go to shit quickly …

Plus, age catching up with him

I'm guessing Butchie has been sleeping a little better lately.

Not really. I'm not a fan of Madrigal and Heuer's performance is a very small sample size.

My issue is that Kimbrel was our biggest trade chip and I don't think we got enough for him. I also suspect that if TLR wasn't a complete fucking dumbass he would've put Kimbrel in for the 9th and moved Hendricks to the 8th and Kimbrel would be just fine. But we'll never know for sure...

I do find it odd that a clearly headed to the HOF closer is the one that was pushed out of his role.

Makes zero sense, and it's not as though Hendriks was having a great season before the Kimbrel trade. He also said multiple times that he would be happy in a setup role. La Russa is just trying to prove he's a genius by going against the grain.

Expecting the Sox to implode in Sept and right the ship for October playoff time

Happ is hitting .357/.426/.738 with four doubles and four home runs in his last 13 games during which the Cubs are 4-9 - sounds about right. He was instrumental in at least a couple of those wins. Unfortunately, I will never trust Happ to actually produce when counted upon. Sadly, he’s probably a Cub for another season or 2

We need to stop winning. We've dropped two spots in the reverse standings. If we're going to suck, let's fully suck; I'd like to get a top 5 draft pick.

I have complete faith in this roster’s ability to lose

Have faith. The losing will resume in a big way this weekend. The Rockies series was an outlier not the new norm.

That's all I got.

As a hitter, or as an infielder, or as a pitcher, or as a sandwich? Big Grin

(His father was perhaps only remarkable for ability to stay on a major league roster for seven years, and one team at that.

Plus, he taught his boys a trade.)
