I apologize if this has been covered in game threads, I haven't been able to dip into any this season, but has anyone else noticed how often Matt Duffy pinches close one nostril and then blows a snot rocket out the other (and then repeats on the other side) while at bat? I can tell you that my wife certainly has and it's changed her opinion of him in a very dramatic way over the last few weeks.

Haven't really noticed. Now, you've got me wondering if he's part of the Sogard anti-vaxx posse.

I wanted to choke him.

I will forever be grateful to Theo, but its pretty terrible that it took this leadership group this long to add all these high velocity arms to the system. A bit frustrating that we are only now seeing the pitching development.

Most of the results are still coming from pitchers acquired from outside the organization. I can appreciate Alzolay, Steele and Thompson, but until any of them can produce consistently above average results for more than 1/2 season, I'll remain skeptical that the organization has turned a corner. Positive signs, but need more of it.

I'm not saying they've turned a corner, but they finally have arms that have serious ceilings as opposed to the Paul Blackburns they drafted for the last 10 years.

With the number of injuries to players whos contributions have pulled this team within 1/2 a game of first place, coupled with a turn to a more difficult schedule in near future, this week might be the zenith for this team in the standings.
Horner, Heyward, Duffy, Mills, Steele, Adam, Marisnick, Romine, and Miller believe are on, or soon to be on, the IL. Willson, Rizzo, and Baez are all fighting injuries. After Cubs finish off Pirate and Reds series, its Padres, Giants, Padres, Cards, Mets, Marlins, Indians, and Dodgers with only a couple days off in the schedule. Believe most of those series are on the road. Well, as my friend Glum used to say, Were all doomed. Hoping to point to this post in a few weeks and express, thats why they play the games or some other folksy baseball saying. This squad seems to play up, or down, to the level of the competition but concerned that injuries and schedule will hamper them

I still believe everything hinges on the rotation. As great as the pen has been, it's hard to imagine all holds together with Ross leaning on his relievers for 4-5 innings each game. On the injury side, none or our position players appear to be dealing with anything serious, so expect the offense to stabilize. Next month's schedule looks frightening, but this team doesn't seem phased by whoever the opponent is on any given day. Let's see what happens.

When did Gordon change his middle name to Strange? Weird.
