The addition of Villar is bizarre. Do we have enough middle IF bats now or are we cornering the market?

I'd like that. Don't we have something like 45 players to squeeze onto the roster? Nice job Jed.

Paying him $35mil for next season would be weird though. Cubs aren't ready to win.Though, our division sucks... I don't know how to feel about this. Will be interesting to see what happens with Story now. I wish there weren't concerns about his arm, otherwise, even with the H/A splits, I'd be excited to see the Cubs grab him. Still would be I suppose.

I think we’re done spending big for this offseason. The Correa short deal with the Twins makes me wonder why other, much better, teams didn’t jump on that. Nothing surprises me anymore.

Agree with Rok, I’ll be surprised if Cubs spend much more this season
Interesting timing that they announced Suzuki signing the day single game tickets went on sale

The 2 player option years Correas getting would make sense for the Cubs not to bite. Why lose a draft pick and have him bolt after one year when 2023 is the year most of the minor league talent would be ready.
Maybe Correa just wants to be a big fish in a small pond and fly under the radar of constant scrutiny for a year. Who knows

Your signings-to-pimp-season-ticket-sales theory continues to hold up!
