MLB News & Notes (other than Cubs or Sox)

Today's Mets-Phillies game was only on Facebook Watch.  No TV coverage (local or national).  No MLB.TV.  They are doing like a game per week like that, primarily weekday day games.  Know any team that plays a lot of those?  At least the Cubs aren't on the list of announced games through May.

That's fucking insane. I mean really, really, really FUCKING INSANE. Also, my contract with MLB.TV includes all out of market games, doesn't it?</blockquote>
I assume only televised games.
This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.  [Image: ITgoyeg.png]

What possible argument can pro-chief people have at this point? Other than, "I like it and I don't want to change -- fuck PC culture!" It's fucking racist as shit and an absolute embarrassment to the franchise.

I want to watch baseball on my largest screen. I want to be able to use my other device's screens for other things while baseball is on. Near as I can tell, there is currently no way to watch these games on the MLB Facebook page on Roku.

Is there a Roku FB app that allows you to switch a video stream to full screen mode?

I want nothing to do with Facebook ever again.

There isn't a Roku app that will let you view any videos other than those posted by you and your friends.

What if MLB.com is your FB friend?

I don't think live videos are posted videos.

That's bizarre. Why would FB be so restrictive on certain platforms?

Meanwhile, Gabe Kapler seems to have already worn out his welcome in Philly.

Quote:The Phillies 1-4 start isn't determinative, of course, as 97 percent of the season is yet to be played. But there are signs that some - even team members - are having their early doubts.

We'll be OK ... We just need the manager to get out of the way, one Phillies player asserted of their obviously improved team, and just as obviously unproven manager.

He had all of spring training and a full 5 away games to demonstrate his managerial talent. Philly has spoken. They’ve seen enough beefcake shots of Kapler. Philly is a tough town but despite its reputation, Philly fans can be extremely loyal if you’re able to exclude snowballs at Santa Claus incident.

BTW I still don’t understand why Kapler benched Herrera for the first game nor the miscommunication with bullpen issue. Kapler has had some miscues and gaffes but he should have been able to make it through the Phillies home opener without calls for firing him.

While I agree to an extent, I think the twitter folks who are downplaying Ohtani's ST start as irrelevant are probably wrong.  That's not a good sign.
Yeah, my guess is he was overrated. I'm just curious about how top evaluators work, like if they need to see someone in person as opposed to on tape to get a good read? Or is it more that MLB spring training competition is that much better than what's in Japan?</blockquote>3 straight games with a HR. I'm losing faith in scouting.
