I try to stay away from Reddit, but have been known to access these streams via various Kodi apps. It's inconsistent.

There were one or two sites that were pretty consistently good last year. Im hoping they come through for me again this year.

Ace is sure carrying a lot of water on Twitter for the Cubs/Marquee as it relates to Comcast and other carriage issues.
This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.

Love the guy, but there are certain positions he takes and harps on that drive me absolutely nuts.

Same here. I still have BN in my news feeds, but the repetitiveness is bordering on cable news level annoying.

AND now YouTube TV just changed course and announced it has an extension in place with Sinclair RSNs while they negotiate a long-term carriage deal for all regionals (presumably) including Marquee.

Will be interesting to see if Sinclair tries to strike a similar deal for Marquee with Amazon, which will stream several Yankee/YES Network games in-market via Prime. The one caveat is that both Amazon and Sinclair are minority owners in YES.

Yeah, there's no reason to think that will extend to any other team. Presumably that's why Amazon bought into YES.

The BN Bros are really freaking out about this news. Sounds to me like another negotiating tactic by both YouTube TV and YES/Sinclair, so not too worried....yet.

Again, it's astounding to me that they're in this position. They knew this day was coming for years. Why weren't they negotiating and getting all of this ironed out years ago? All of this feels like they're cramming for the final the night before.

In their defense, I'm sure both (all) sides are using the impending season for leverage. It happens with so many carriage agreements that they get done as existing deals expire or after expiring when the channels are pulled, seasons start, etc. It's a game of chicken.
03-13-2020, 11:17 AM
At least I won't have to worry about Comcast not signing a Marquee carriage deal by opening day anymore.
03-13-2020, 11:29 AM
They are going to have absolutely no programming for the foreseeable future. It wouldn't surprise me if they start rerunning spring training games.

I would run classic games all day long, but they will probably just show the god awful "Best of YouTube" and Ryan Dempster's Cubs Convention clips. They can't even fall back on showing 3rd rate college sports or VSIN gambling programming.

Classic games is absolutely the way to go. Or hell, just run the 2016 postseason on repeat.
