"For years, I watched the Cubs become a nationally recognized brand." Fuck this guy.

I don't get it.

This guy has never lived in a world where the Cubs weren't a nationally recognized brand.

It's the general manager of a television station.  Why in the world would you care?
This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.  [Image: ITgoyeg.png]

I've got nothing.

Me either.

As long as Len & JD are coming along for the ride and this guy doesnt hire a bunch of alt-right loons as on-air talent, I dont really care much about a meaningless statement he makes about the Cubs as a business entity.

I'm pretty sure that just about everyone, except Len & J.D. are concerned for their jobs. A lot of that WGN crew that worked across multiple entities for Cubs, Sox, Blackhawks and Bulls have worked their last games for Blackhawks and Bulls and are waiting to find out if they still have employment doing baseball.

That was going to be the case regardless of who the Cubs partnered with.

Well, these people all currently work for the Cubs, essentially. The Cubs could have stipulations about what part of their existing team is kept intact within this new partnership. It's not axiomatic that a new partner has to come in and clean house. The Cubs aren't in a position of weakness, begging for someone to carry their games.

Straw, sometimes I think you're just looking for reasons to be pissed. Reminds me of my ex-wife.

I don't have to look. Everything pisses me off.

The guy seems to have stolen the fat from Joe West's neck.

Feels like a bad sign.
