MLB News & Notes (other than Cubs or Sox)
Hey we need a first baseman....think they'll trade Fielder to us?

In case you were wondering, Luke Scott sounds like maybe a fun guy to hang around, if you like guns, and a complete moron, if you follow reality.

Luke Scott love Nugent and is a birther

Looks like Paulie is headed back to the Sox for 3 more years.

Wonder what they plan on doing about that bullpen. They seem to be under the impression that its a good idea to hand the closer reigns to Chris Sale.

Depending on what the Twins do (if anything), the Sox could be the favorites in that division now.

<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->Could the Cardinals be laying the groundwork for life without Albert Pujols?

The three-time National League MVP will be a free agent after next season and he undoubtedly will command astronomical numbers in upcoming contract talks.

That process took at least a small step forward when, according to Joe Strauss of the Post Dispatch, Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak met Monday with Dan Lozano, the agent for Pujols as a precursor to negotiations for a contract extension.

Bryan Burwell of the Post-Dispatch hints Wednesday that the Cardinals could bow out if Pujols is demanding $28 million to $30 million.

"The longer you listen to Cardinals officials who carefully broach the subject, the more it sounds like they are either trying to get you to start getting comfortable with the possible reality of life without Pujols in the not-so-distant future, or at the very least take the concept out for a little public stroll for their own prospective negotiating benefit," Burwell writes.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

I agree. However, lets not forget Morneau and Nathan will be back. That's pretty big.

RIP Bob Feller.

The Sox have lost their bullpen and added Dunn. I have no idea what to expect from them since for a month they were the best team in baseball, and for the other 5 months they were a .500 team.

Their rotation could get interesting, since Peavy will be out a while and who knows which Jackson or Floyd will show up.

Cooper is pretty well-respected around the league. I'd rather have Cooper than whoever the hell our pitching coach is next year.

Doesn't he teach everyone to throw a cutter? It's awesome that he does, but why doesn't every pitching coach?
There's nothing better than to realize that the good things about youth don't end with youth itself. It's a matter of realizing that life can be renewed every day you get out of bed without baggage. It's tough to get there, but it's better than the dark thoughts. -Lance

To the opposite extreme: Gregg Zaun probably has the coolest website of any player.
Just the intro alone is awesome
