Tulo is a great player until he gets a nagging injury. That's a pretty long term deal, but if you want him to stay in Colorado you would have to give him that. Pitchers coming out of Colorado are always going to scare me, especially if you give them $10 mil a year.

I don't even need to see the money on that, 7 years for a 32 year old? Wow.

$ 126 Million.
Alf Soriano
Mike Hampton
Barry Zito
The Werth deal immediately joins the list of the worst contracts in the history of baseball.
Are the Nats out of their fucking minds?
There's nothing better than to realize that the good things about youth don't end with youth itself. It's a matter of realizing that life can be renewed every day you get out of bed without baggage. It's tough to get there, but it's better than the dark thoughts. -Lance

How can they justify giving him the same kind of deal that Matt Holliday got?

<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->Does this put Werth deal in perspective? #Nationals will pay him more than all free agents franchise has signed in last 20 years ($122.1M)!<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.

Thank you, Nationals, for making the Soriano deal seem just a skosh less than complete fucktardity.

FWIW, in my time following the Dodgers, I have found Tony Jackson to be hands down the most reliable source out there and he is the one that first reported this rumor. So while I don't see it happening, I think there must have at least been some fairly serious discussions if Jackson is reporting it. He tends to be far more accurate than Henson or Hernandez.. Just my 2 cents..
