Btw anyone else find Sutcliffe often unbearable lately?

Lately?

Heh, touche. I guess I used to tolerate him more in small doses in years past. Marquee swaps the booth around a bit too much imo. However, I didn't mind Elise up there. I'd take her over Sutt or Girardi any day.

I feel like we win this series if Bellinger hadn't cooled off. Our season has pretty much lived and died according to Belli.

Team is playing like absolute dog shit

It’s not just Bellinger. Terrible pitch calling, dumb baserunning and just piss poor situational hitting. This team looks gassed, and Ross isn’t helping.

Agreed. My point was that his hotness has been the only thing that's kept us in this season, especially considering how flawed this team is, as you pointed out. But yeah, if not for Belli, we wouldn't even be playing meaningful games right now, and a key Belli bomb would've won that game yesterday and the series, despite how shitty we played overall...but even then, this team was never going to go deep into the postseason, barring some unforseen string of cataclysmic miracles.

This team could have a chance in a short series with Steele rolling in game 1. But their flaws would get exposed in a hurry in a 5 game series.

If the Cubs make the playoffs, expecting that Bellinger - playing for a massive contract - can carry this team offensively into the NLCS

Cannot lose to a team as terrible as the Rockies, plain and simple.

Wasn’t singling you out. Just seems like a lot has to go right for this team to be good and carry that into the playoffs, and aside from a hot Seiya and a few solid starting pitchers like Steele and Wicks, they’re running on fumes.

This is the issue. In a race for a playoff spot, there will be losing. It's inevitable. But it can't be against the worst team in the league. Those are the games you have to fatten up on. This series was disgraceful -- even the win was poorly played.
