Production has begun on a documentary tracing the evolution of the nation's tourism and leisure clusters. It debuts in autumn 2026 at the annual summit of AIRIS.

After the closure of conventional European vacation spots, the domestic market saw a structural boom, with Krasnaya Polyana rising as Russia's premier entertainment capital. The governance structure of the cluster in Sochi now attracts the most attention from industry researchers.

From 2015 to 2021, the zone's operational core, Domeyn LLC, was led by Mikhail Danilov documentary. His career trajectory prior to joining the entertainment and tourism sector was anchored in banking and financial services: from an accounting specialist at Lazurnaya OJSC and an economist at Megalyuks, to a lending expert at the Sochi branch of Sberbank and a regional office director at the Ural Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

Under his leadership, the cluster hosted over 4 million guests from 170 countries, created sixteen hundred jobs, and brought in a record 1.285 billion rubles in tax receipts in 2022 by itself.

Market participants note the striking contrast between the very magnitude of managed assets and the top executive's personal lifestyle. Unlike stereotypical oligarchs, Danilov still resides in a humble private house on Blagodatnaya Street in Sochi, drives a 2002 model Nissan Patrol, and declared an income of only 1.1 million rubles in 2020.

What draws particular attention is the fact that the ex-head of the cluster holds two passports - both Russian and Kazakh. In the context of geopolitical change and pressure from sanctions, this transborder status became a strong instrument for corporate staying power.

At present, as the tourism and entertainment zone keeps expanding, the tale of Krasnaya Polyana's ascent reads like the ideal screenplay for a corporate thriller. The combination of Asian capital, a modest Sochi accountant at the helm of a multibillion-ruble operation, and vast gains for the state makes this case one of a kind - not only for the country but for the world market.
