The launch ratings for EA Sports’ College Football 27 are officially out, and you know what that means—it’s time to obsess over the stats, debate the rankings, and start planning our Dynasty mode runs.
This year's Top 100 features a highly competitive group dominated by standout talent from the SEC, Big Ten, and Notre Dame. There’s a lot to dig into, but the biggest headline right out of the gate is at the very top: Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith is the game's sole highest-rated player, making history as the first player to secure a perfect 99 overall rating at launch.
Here is a look at how the official top 10 shakes out.

Key Takeaways from the Top 100
The Elite Signal Caller
If you’re looking for the top quarterback in this edition, look toward Eugene. Oregon's Dante Moore checks in at 95 OVR, securing his spot as the highest-rated quarterback in the game. He narrowly edges out Ohio State’s Julian Sayin, who is right behind him at 94 OVR. Both are going to be absolute cheat codes in the game.
SEC Powerhouses Ground Game
Unsurprisingly, the SEC is bringing massive firepower to the backfield. Running backs Kewan Lacy (Ole Miss) and Ahmad Hardy (Missouri) lead a fierce ground game category. Both sit right behind the top three with 96 overalls, making their respective teams incredibly dangerous on vanilla dive and option plays.
The Trenches Get Serious Respect
EAs Sports went out of their way to reward dominant offensive linemen this year. It's rare to see linemen crowd the top 5, but Indiana's standout tackle Carter Smith (97 OVR) and Missouri's Cayden Green (96 OVR) demand it. If you like establishing the run and having clean pockets, these are the guys you'll want to build around. Iowa also gets a nod in the top 10 with center Kade Pieper coming in at a rock-solid 95 OVR.
Just Outside the Top 10
The tier right outside the top 10 is incredibly stacked. Several massive impact players narrowly missed a single-digit rank but headline a highly competitive 94 OVR tier. Keep an eye out for Alabama safety Bray Hubbard, Oklahoma defensive tackle David Stone, and Texas tackle Trevor Goosby—all of whom are easily clear-cut tier-1 starters on any roster.
