Fast travel in Forza Horizon 6 is now faster and freer than ever. From the very start of the game, you can teleport across Japan without spending a single credit. Playground Games has removed fast travel boards and house purchase requirements completely, letting you jump anywhere you’ve explored. But there’s a catch: the new “Fog of War” system. To make the most of fast travel, you’ll need to understand how to unlock the roads efficiently.
The Core Rule: Clear the Grey Roads
Even though fast travel is free and instant, you can only teleport to roads you’ve actually driven on.
Master Tips for Fast Travel Efficiency
1. Pair Exploration with Drone Mode
When entering a new region, use your drone to scout ahead. While drones don’t unlock roads for teleporting, they clear the fog, show hidden paths, and reveal landmarks. This makes your first drive much more efficient and helps you plan your route.
2. Ignore Mascots Early On
Don’t waste time chasing every collectible mascot or XP sign at the start. Once you drive enough of a region to clear roughly 70% of its fog, the rest of the collectibles appear on your map. Then you can fast-travel directly next to them and grab them later.
3. Use Stunt Party Events Strategically
If you need to reach distant, unexplored areas, look for Horizon Stunt Party events. These events replace the old Arcade/Forzathon Live system, and you can fast-travel directly to them, using them as a launch point to explore nearby grey roads.
4. Drive Out from Key Hubs
The main Horizon Festival site is located just north of Tokyo. Start from this hub and drive outwards in a spiral pattern. This approach quickly maps out the core roads for fast travel, making future trips across Japan much faster.
Streamlining Your Setup
Fast travel lets you instantly switch activities, so make your garage work for you. Changing cars is free in FH6, so:
