Javy signed with the Tigers.

None of our guys are coming back. I've made peace with it. I'm not thrilled with the current state of the team, but that's a different issue.

I unfollowed that Dom guy about a month ago, initially liked that he was a positive Cubs tweeter. But the endless pining for Schwarber, Baez, Rizzo, and KB got borderline creepy.

For the most part I think he's pretty funny/entertaining, but he can also be a little grating at times.

He's mostly fine, I just dont see what purpose there is in whining about missing the 2016 team stars every day. It's weird.

I don't get it either. They were all going to leave eventually. Anyway, it's going to be one excruciatingly long and dull lock-out on the North Side. And I highly doubt that Jed is simply waiting for the new CBA to start spending non-Yan Gomes money on big FAs. Can't believe that is a popular narrative out there.

Because it would have been nice to have ONE of them stick around and be an Ernie Banks type legacy player.
If Angelo had picked McClellin, I would have been expecting to hear by training camp that kid has stage 4 cancer, is actually 5'2" 142 lbs, is a chick who played in a 7 - 0 defensive scheme who only rotated in on downs which were 3 and 34 yds + so is not expecting to play a down in the NFL until the sex change is complete and she puts on another 100 lbs. + but this is Emery's first pick so he'll get a pass with a bit of questioning. - 1060Ivy

Yes. But are you spending your time dreaming of what could have been?

No Im thinking man, I wish I could see Baez be the most exciting player Ive ever seen in a Cubs uniform stick around. Compartmentalize all you want but it does suck that some of these guys are in different uniforms

I had hoped one of them would have stuck around too. The Giants managed to keep a few of their core guys around as they rebuilt, wish the Cubs could have done that. Contrerasis is still there I suppose, but not quite the same.

The way the Giants handled Posey was ideal. He stuck around, had a few more nice seasons, and got to retire a Giant. You'd think the Cubs could've found *one* guy from the historic team that finally won a fucking World Series to keep around and retire a Cub.

It does suck, but I'm not spending a significant amount of time stewing on it either. I'm more stuck on the general idea that it's fucking weird that we're the only team that doesn't seem to extend our young talent.
