MLB News & Notes (other than Cubs or Sox)
Padres snag Musgrove, somehow the Pirates were able to get a top 10 prospect from them. A lot of people are bullish on Musgrove being a breakout candidate in 2021. Was kind of hoping the Cubs would look into dealing for him. At least we have Shelby Miller ?

Strange return for only 2 years of control.

Guess I'll be semi-rooting for the Nats next season.

I'm not sad to see Quintana go. What a disappointment he ended up being.

Blue Jays beefin up with Springer and Brantley. Seems like what the Angels did years back but had no pitching to keep them in games

Anyone believe that spring training will start on time and MLB will play a full 162 schedule with Opening Day as scheduled?

It’s ridiculous that owners and union can’t get together discuss situation - Covid in AZ is bad with new cases about 67% greater than avg US according to 7 day new case average. FL is right around US Average in new cases. New cases are decreasing overall as holiday travel effect dissipates. If I’m a player, I would be angry and frightened by apparent lack of communication or apparent planning for new season. As a fan I’m frustrated and losing interest.

Both parties have to cease the posturing and get things sorted out before fans have to endure another season with significant games lost not just to pandemic but also to the inability of owners and players to do what’s right for the game.

Oh yeah, don’t forget the CBA is up next season so fans should expect the type of BS to continue for 2022.

I think MLB will figure something out. Other than the Cardinals and Marlins, they were mostly able to get games in without too much trouble. Whether or not any of us will be in Wrigley this summer, I'm not sure...

For someone who seems like such a solid guy, I really hate him.

I always thought his success with the Sox was an absolute mirage, so I really hated the deal from day one.  He did not disappoint in that regard, that's for sure.

IIRC, he was never really that great with the White Sox. And his low strikeout rate always felt like a red flag.

Maaaaaaaaan it sucks to be staring down a rebuild already. I didn't think we'd have to see this shit again. I completely bought the sales pitch...
