MLB News & Notes (other than Cubs or Sox)
Quote:Pittsburgh is kicking the shit out of the Brewers.

... and the Indians have won 19 straight.

The Brewers threw everything they had at the Cubs and were celebrating as though they had won a championship yesterday. Wouldn't be shocked if they lost 6 in a row now.

I didn't think the Brewers were going away and I still don't.

I'm not underestimating them.

They got some fight.

On the other hand, I was GREATLY relieved when Stinky assured us there was nothing to worry about regarding the Cardinals.

That was a pretty big load off my mind when I read his post.

Holy crap.  The Dodgers lost again.

It will be an interesting postseason.

At this point, would you rather have the Dodgers or Nats?  The Nats are only 3 losses back of the Dodgers for best record in the NL.  But the Dodgers have time to turn it around and at least part of this awful stretch for them has been about resting players.  I don't know how to feel/who the Cubs match up better against.

On paper, our team looks worse than either of them. If the playoffs started today, I'd take facing the Dodgers over probably any team in the league. lol

Let's win the division first, though. I'm feeling pretty iffy about our chances right now.

Yeah, just get in and hopefully be healthy by playoff time. We don't reallly match up well against any of the contenders, but maybe going in as an underdog won't necessarily be the worst thing in the world.

Get in and hope that Arrieta, Lester, Hendricks all hit their stride and pitch really, really well for the month of October.

That could theoretically happen.

As an aside, Wilson shitting the bed is such a fucking buzz kill.

I hate his doughy face.

That kid is 23, throws over 100mph, had a 1.86 ERA last season with 174K in 140IP

AND

Batted .322 with 22 HR and a .416 OBP as a DH.

Holy shit.

I got nothin'.

Given how the rotation is shaping up post-2017, I think we need him in a Cubs uniform. Also wouldn't hurt to have another dynamic bat.

Would love him and expect them to go all out, but my guess is the Yankees will be as well.  And with Dombrowski at the head of the Red Sox...
