Statcast is still going through some growing pains since MLB moved away from PITCH/fx for pitch tracking. Some of the more highly publicized issues such as erroneously high velocity readings seem to have been resolved, but there are still large gaps in the data being tracked and the system also does a poor job of determning balls and strikes. Interesting write up by Rob Arthur at 538.

Only issue with article would be the lack of mention of solutions. Would like to know what's being done to better calibrate the system and when fans should expect data to be more trustworthy.

Mets' Syndergaard leaves today's game in second inning after giving up 5 runs in first inning. Noah refused a MRI earlier in the week and was scratched from his scheduled start on Thursday.
