A lady got hit in the face with Brett Lawries broken bat at the A's & Red Sox game. She was at the game with her young son and had to be taken out on a stretcher. Lots of blood and screams. Apparently the injuries are life threatening. That's so awful.
When is MLB going to implement NHL rules and have the netting extend the the foul polls?

I'm for the netting but I'm also curious to know if my perception that not just broken bats but bats in general are going into the stands at a higher rate, and if so...what the reason(s) might be.
