MLB News & Notes (other than Cubs or Sox)
Tim Lincecum got busted with pot after getting pulled over for speeding. Just over 3 grams, facing misdemeanor charges.

The thing you need to remember is that all Cardinals fans and all White Sox fans are very bad people. It's a fact that has been scientifically proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. Being a Cubs fan is the only path to rightousness and piousness. Cardinal and White Sox fans exist to be the dark, diabolical forces that oppose us. They are the yin to our yang, the Joker to our Batman, the demon to our angel, the insurgence to our freedom, the oil to our water, the club to our baby seal. Their happiness occurs only in direct conflict with everything that is pure and good in this world.

3.3 grams, his dealer ripped him off on that eighth (like it matters to the soon to be multimillionaire).

If there's anybody in baseball who looks like a pothead, it's Lincecum. No shock there. Was he speeding on a skateboard?

Looks like the Red Sox traded for Jeremy Hermida. They basically traded the equivalent of Jeremy Papelbon and Jeffrey Antigua. While I am excited about Antigua, I would have been thrilled to snatch Hermida for those two.

I'm guessing a good portion of it already went "up in smoke". Like you said, the guy is a multimillionare so I highly doubt he buys his weed in eighths.

Z won another Silver Slugger award. So... we got that going for us.

Chris Coughlan and Andrew Bailey won the ROYs.

At least Beckham didn't win it, though I'm not so sure he didn't deserve to. He didn't even crack the top 3.

Wells finished 6th with one 2nd place vote.

Never heard of him either. I thought Happ or Mmmbop would get it.
I hate my pretentious sounding username too.

What did you think of the AL/NL ROY awards? I am biased towards Bailey since I watched him pitch almost daily(in dominating fashion), but I was surprised he won and Coughlan for that matter.

Many blog posts about RoY results in last 18 hours, Wes ... Short answer: I would have voted for Brett Anderson or Elvis Andrus in the AL, and Andrew McCutchen or Randy Wells in the NL.

I think the fact that he only played about 2/3 of the season affected the voters.

Greinke won the AL Cy Young, getting 25 of 28 first place votes. Felix Hernandez finished 2nd with 2 firsts, and Verlander in 3rd with 1.
