K-Rod About To Be A Met
#1
As expected.

<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->LAS VEGAS – The Mets New York Mets were on the brink last night of closing their most important game of the offseason – landing closer Francisco Rodriguez.

Rodriguez's agent, Paul Kinzer, said, "I am more optimistic than I have ever been" about finalizing a deal between the single-season save leader and the Mets.

Kinzer would not divulge terms of the deal, except to indicate that it would be longer than the two-year with a vesting option that the Mets used as an opening salvo in negotiations. However, it is going to be well south of the five-year, $75 million mark that Kinzer was shooting for initially in this offseason. That would have been a record for a closer. But those dreams came before the nation's economy tanked and began to seriously impact baseball, as well.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

This sucks. Can't picture Frankie without an Angel jersey.
Omar keeps getting those similar looking Caribbean guys, i.e. Beltran, Duaner Sanchez, Endy Chavez and Frankie Rodriguez. I swear they must be brothers, or something.
I hate my pretentious sounding username too.

On the brighter side, at least Woody didn't sign with them.

Now, let's just hope he doesn't end up in Milwaukee or St Louis.

K-Rod is good, but will be overpaid.
Still, I kind of hate to see a sleeping giant like NY get stronger.
There's nothing better than to realize that the good things about youth don't end with youth itself. It's a matter of realizing that life can be renewed every day you get out of bed without baggage. It's tough to get there, but it's better than the dark thoughts. -Lance

Yeah, I don't think that St Louis has any interest in Wood. I just don't see that happening. I'm not happy about having to face K Rod, though. ....and Wood in a Mets uniform would have forced me not to watch any series we play against them.

We play the Mets six times a season. Is facing K-Rod that big of a concern?

I just hate the Mets. Plain and simple. Don't question me, Geoff. You know how I get around this time of year.
