Alright, THAT could prevent us from winning the division and I might hang myself. The 2 best right-handed hitters in the game and possibly all-time, in the same lineup. There's no way the Cards have money for that though... right?

I don't think they could sign him. It's scary to think about though.

And my friends that like the Cardinals are debating whether this would be a good thing or bad thing for them. Morons.

Our odds of getting Peavy would go up, at least.

That would be the scariest 3-4 combo I can remember in my lifetime.

I'm sure Boras will jump at this idea... Who needs fair compensation when you have the chance to play in a great city!

<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->Albert Pujols said Thursday that he speaks regularly with Manny Ramirez and the free agent recently told him, "No one wants to sign me."
"I'm not an agent or general manager, but I can't understand how Manny has not signed," Pujols said. <b>"Maybe St. Louis doesn't have the money to sign him, but he could give them a discount because St. Louis is a great city that supports its players."</b><!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Ah, the non-hometown hometown discount.

Pujols is so damn retarded. If baseball had nothing to do where he plays...WHY would Manny choose muggy, drab St. Louis over Hollywood?
What a dumbass suggestion. If Pujols had a brain and some balls, he'd adjust his contract to open funds for Manny like Larry Fitzgerald wants to do for Anquan Boldin, <b><i>that's</i></b> what team players/captains do.
I hate my pretentious sounding username too.

Pujols already has an MVP and a WS ring, if I were him, I wouldn't do shit for anyone else. I'd do all I could to sign the biggest contract possible and make as much money as I could.

Pujols is only, only, making $16 million per year. That's a bargain and I couldn't see him taking less money for to allow St. Louis to sign anyone. Maybe if the guys that are making way too much money would restructure their deals, they could afford him. When you're giving guys like Pineiro $7.5 million in 09, Adam Kennedy $4 million a year, giving Lohse a big contract and on the hook for all of Carpenter's money, that doesn't leave a lot of money to play with. I'm sure St. Louis would also use Pujols' yearly salary as an excuse to not pay Manny what he wants. I'm pretty sure Mozeliak already shot it down to with something like, "The answer is no" when asked about Manny.
