Matt Clement Retires
#1
A solid, but at the same time disappointing career. He was considered the top prospect in baseball by many when he came up with the Pads. Had one good year for the Red Sox after us, but that was it.

87-86, 4.47 ERA.

His arm must hurt a lot. A guy like him could make a living throwing .500 ball.
OTOH, he's already accumulated over $41 Million bucks in his career. Nice retirement.
Why suffer?
There's nothing better than to realize that the good things about youth don't end with youth itself. It's a matter of realizing that life can be renewed every day you get out of bed without baggage. It's tough to get there, but it's better than the dark thoughts. -Lance

I'll always look back fondly on his career with us except for that last season. Good guy.
