Headline of the Year
#1
Marquis earns NL-best 8th win as Rockies sweep

Not that I want him back or think we should have definitely kept him--but talk about a total slap in the face.

It isn't going to last.

I'm just happy they swept the Cardinals. So in that sense, Marquis still helped us today.

Let me just add...

Getting rid of Marquis was probably Hendry's best move of the offseason. I'm glad he's gone.

Yeah, but that's exactly why I would have until the trade deadline; the past few years, he kicks ass in the early months, then sucks balls down the stretch, then finishes so badly that the manager kicks him off the playoff roster.

But he almost always pitches effectively early, (when he was a Cub,at least.)
There's nothing better than to realize that the good things about youth don't end with youth itself. It's a matter of realizing that life can be renewed every day you get out of bed without baggage. It's tough to get there, but it's better than the dark thoughts. -Lance

Wholeheartedly agree.

Our rotation has been our biggest strength all season, without Cy Marquis. Fuck him. I have no regrets over that move, aside from getting nothing for him and paying part of his salary + Vizcaino's.

just a guess but if we know that i'm sure every major league gm knows that too and his value would be shit at the deadline.
