I'm starting to come around to Butchers way of thinking
#1
this year just has a bad feeling to it. bradley is a bust and lee is in decline. soto and fontenot have come back to earth. the only hitter doing anything this year outside of soriano and sparkle is on the dl and will be for quite some time. our best pitcher is hurt. peavy is coming to chicago, but not the right side of chicago. the brewers are playing out there minds. many many questionable moves made in the offseason that i tried to defend even though deep in my heart, i knew they were indefensible. something is missing. i fear the window is closing more rapidly than i thought.

we need hitting, but where? unless we eat a very large portion of his contract, lee is unmovable. we're stuck with bradley. how do we save this season? i'm tired of waiting for these guys to start hitting. it's almost june for the love of christ. what do we do?

If Ramirez is on the team, we are in first place. End of story.

2009 = 2004.

Let's just hope 2010 ≠ 2005 and 2011 ≠ 2006.

Well, we have this guy in AAA with an OPS of over 1.400, 17 HR's and 50 RBI's, but I guess he's useless to a team with no offense.

I'm not even close to being ready to give up. That said, if Aram isn't 100% whenever he returns, I can't imagine this team going very far. It's gonna be a struggle no matter what.

Let this be a lesson to anyone who predicted this season or any other Cubs season to be a cakewalk.

We're only 3 games out of first. If it we get to August and September and are several games behind at that point, then I'll start to worry, but it's still way to early to break a sweat. Yeah, it's been tougher with all the injuries, but if our guys were completely healthy, we'd be in first without question. Hopefully we get to that point later this summer. I'd be surprised if we didn't.

Yeah, that's starting to piss me off. I don't care if he makes an error-a-game, we need his fucking bat yesterday.
There's nothing better than to realize that the good things about youth don't end with youth itself. It's a matter of realizing that life can be renewed every day you get out of bed without baggage. It's tough to get there, but it's better than the dark thoughts. -Lance

Here’s how I see it, we are only 3 games behind because we are beating the teams we are supposed to beat. But, we are not beating the teams we NEED to beat. This is the reason I don’t have a lot of confidence right now. Unless they can show that they are able to win against the better teams of the league then I see nothing but disappointment.
Some men are born mediocre, some men achieve mediocrity, and some men have mediocrity thrust upon them.

We have just four seasons to win('09, '10, '11, and '12) before we die. I have no hope.
I hate my pretentious sounding username too.

How many balls get hit to third base every game anyway? Two? Three?

This team has shown no life all week. We're getting swept and then Peavy is gonna do a number on us. Hopefully we can still manage to win the SD series after losing 5 in a row. At the same time, it would be little consolation for looking so damn lifeless against the half-way decent teams over the past few weeks.
