I believe that is only on local WGN. The national version has crap.

And the "Movie Underground" is far from it.

I think that's the Chicago broadcast, not the cable channel.

How long until WGN stops showing games all together? I think it's coming after the sale of the team, which would be a huge mistake. I wonder how many people are Cubs fans just because of WGN? It sucks as it is that you might get 2 or 3 games a week.

I don't think so. I think part of the holdup in negotiations was just what kind of special deal WGN would get in broadcasting rights.

That's interesting because it's in HD on Dish Network. Of course, I have to use MLB.tv for Comcast games.

yeah, for some reason DirecTv has decided not to pick up WGN for HD yet. I read something last year saying there was some kind of contract dispute going on between the two of them. It probably has something to do with the fact that WGN is a hideous network outside of the Cubs.

I would love to see Sky Dives in HD. I bet that fried chicken in St. Louis looks delicious in high def. And the hot S&M chick on Movie Underground is bomb.

Same here, though I'll usually stick with GN for the announcers.

I read they were adding some new shows in the next several months like 30 rock, How I met your mother, Entourage, all shows that should be shown in HD. Maybe when they do, that'll help get a deal finished with Directv to go HD. Right now what would they show in HD to a national audience other than sports? Out of sight retro night and home video shows can't really be HD. I don't know what the disagreement is, but Directv's model is to have every available channel in HD, so I would guess tribune is being the unreasonable negotiator here. Once they add more HD content I bet the deal will get done.
