Certainly not, I was just going by the whole "player should earn his paycheck" gripe Tom was on. I was being purposely close minded just because I find it funny to complain about a player not earning their paycheck.
Also, he didn't suck this year. He's hitting .270/.400/.425 on the year.

Being critical and asking for a guy's head and pretty much wanting to run him out of town aren't the same thing. I've been critical of Bradley all season, but some people act as if he's a total bust. The numbers and watching him actually play suggest otherwise.

You can't say he's getting $10M this year because he's not. He's getting, like, 5 or 6 million (I'm too lazy to look it up) THIS YEAR. I may be mistaken, but if he died tomorrow he doesn't suddenly get the full $30MM.
If he can rebound next year for performance similar to the second half AND stay healthy the signing isn't the massive flop it once appeared.

He got a $4 M signing bonus and makes $5M this year. So I'll agree his federal taxes state that he only made $9 M this year from the Chicago National League Ball Club.
And if he for some reason died tomorrow, I'm sure I wouldn't be concerened with his contract status.
I guess I'm biased since I never liked the signing anyway. Even if he performed exactly as he did last year I wouldn't be impressed. He's just not the guy I wanted.

I guess it depends on how you look at it. Overall those numbers aren't all that bad, but when you figure in the 170 point drop in OPS from last year, it's kind of hard to say that he's been any good at all either.

If Angelo had picked McClellin, I would have been expecting to hear by training camp that kid has stage 4 cancer, is actually 5'2" 142 lbs, is a chick who played in a 7 - 0 defensive scheme who only rotated in on downs which were 3 and 34 yds + so is not expecting to play a down in the NFL until the sex change is complete and she puts on another 100 lbs. + but this is Emery's first pick so he'll get a pass with a bit of questioning. - 1060Ivy

Bradley may be hitting .270, but his OBP is nearly .400, and that's a <i>significantly</i> more important stat.
It's tough to blame the Cubs' performance on Milt, even if he hasn't played as well as he did last season. He's played well. Soriano has <b>sucked.</b>
Vitamin B, I'm curious as to who you wanted Jim to sign last winter? You really can't go wrong with whoever you say: everyone knew Dunn would hit a ton, and of course he's 3rd in the league in OPS (behind Pujols and Fielder, ahead of Hanley Ramirez and Chase Utley). And both Ibanez and Abreu have had outstanding/surprising seasons, and have been a big part of helping their respective teams into 1st place.
My order would have been:
Dunn
Bradley
Ibanez
Abreu
and I admit that Bradley has probably played 4th best of that group. But over the length of the 3-year deal, I still believe that he'll outperform Ibanez and Abreu. (and, btw, as of today, Bradley's OPS+ is 111, and Abreu's is 113. Considering that Milt is a much better baserunner, and a much better fielder (because Abreu is terrible), I think it's arguable that's he's been better than Abreu even <i>this</i> year.)
There's nothing better than to realize that the good things about youth don't end with youth itself. It's a matter of realizing that life can be renewed every day you get out of bed without baggage. It's tough to get there, but it's better than the dark thoughts. -Lance

If I knew Abreu could've been signed for as cheap as he did, he would have been my first choice. Of course, Bradley may have been that cheap as well, if Hendry waited a little longer. This past offseason sure proved to be a disaster in so many ways.
I love Dunn's bat, but I don't think we could sustain an OF with Soriano and Dunn out there. Even with the best CF on earth (whoever that is), it would be a circus out there.
