No, wrong, 100% wrong, again. Players don't go from being all star caliber players to being totally worthless in a blink of an eye. There's usually a trend, a gradual decline, not someone falling off the cliff performance-wise from one season to the next, that does not happen with any regularity. Is Soriano gonna get worse over the length of his contract? Yes, I don't think there's any question about it. Is he gonna fall off the map in terms of ability in one off-season? Not gonna happen.

He's hurt, he's been fucking hurt since about a month into the season. I don't know who's fault it is that he's been trotted out there almost everyday, but his perforamnce has been greatly affected by the fact that he is not healthy. It's really simple to explain actually.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
It's not even like this is from one season to the next. On May 18th had a .280/.343/.580 line and 12 HRs. He was playing some of his best ball since he came to the Cubs. It's obvious this isn't just simple decline from age. And he's been in the league for 11 seasons now, so I'm pretty sure pitchers didn't just all of the sudden figure out how to get him out.
The thing you need to remember is that all Cardinals fans and all White Sox fans are very bad people. It's a fact that has been scientifically proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. Being a Cubs fan is the only path to rightousness and piousness. Cardinal and White Sox fans exist to be the dark, diabolical forces that oppose us. They are the yin to our yang, the Joker to our Batman, the demon to our angel, the insurgence to our freedom, the oil to our water, the club to our baby seal. Their happiness occurs only in direct conflict with everything that is pure and good in this world.

I predict that Soriano will be given his outright release with at least two season left on his monstrous contract.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
No he won't. He'll hit long into his contract.

Right but he's not going to go from a terrific hitter to complete crap in a year or two. He has plenty left.

This is the first year that he has made an All Star team and he played on some bad M's teams that needed a representative.
He has been a steady player, but I doubt that he will be worth it in year 3.

<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->The Cubs received some good news on the injury front on Saturday.

Cubs left fielder Alfonso Soriano does not have a dislocated right finger, team officials told ESPN100's and ESPNChicago.com.

Soriano has a swollen, jammed finger and is expected to be in the lineup in the next couple of days.

Soriano injured the finger during Thursday's game with the Washington Nationals diving back to first base after making a wide turn on a single.

He was tagged out.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

I wouldn't at all be surprised to see Soriano go on a tear now for a month. Couldn't come at a better time too.
