No.

yes
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
If you want to send The Hoff down to AAA, by all means, do so, but don't pick up Giambi to justify doing it. Or do you really think he'll drastically improve upon his .697 OPS? Or, for those wanting him as a situational LH stick, his .641 OPS vs. righties?
A change of scenery, you say? His OPS on the road this year, away from the pitching-favorable McAfee Coliseum: .615.
Pass.

My guess is that the Hoff is the one sent down when Soto returns.

Do we have an extra pitcher right now? If so, I'm guessing Shark will be sent down.

If Hoff goes, are we comfortable with Fox as our back-up 1b?

Were you comfortable with Fox as our back up catcher?
If Giambi comes in and Hoff is dropped then Giambi can play 1F probably as well as Fox.
I'm not for bringing in Giambi but not doing so cause you worried about a backup 1st base shouldn't be a concern.
Giambi just got a change in scenery when he moved to Oakland from NY.

I'm all for finding a replacement for Hoff, but Giambi? No thanks.
The thing you need to remember is that all Cardinals fans and all White Sox fans are very bad people. It's a fact that has been scientifically proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. Being a Cubs fan is the only path to rightousness and piousness. Cardinal and White Sox fans exist to be the dark, diabolical forces that oppose us. They are the yin to our yang, the Joker to our Batman, the demon to our angel, the insurgence to our freedom, the oil to our water, the club to our baby seal. Their happiness occurs only in direct conflict with everything that is pure and good in this world.

I am pretty sure we do and I am also pretty sure you are going to be correct.

You want a left-handed bat--sign Barry Bonds. Flame away.
Then we can bring in Smoltz and have him close.

How are you not a GM somewhere?

I have no idea.
I watched Smoltz get lit up the other day and I felt bad for him. He's had such a nice career and it's a shame it may end this way.
BTW, Alex Rios was just claimed off waivers by an unknown team. Not that we have any use for him, but I always thought he was a decent player and I'm interested to see who he lands with (or if he stays).

I'm assuming Rios was claimed by a middle of the pack, but still kind of in it NL team.
