He gets on base and makes things happen on the base paths. That's something we lack. His parent's can't spell, but that doesn't take away from his smart plays on the field.

We're not really on the same page, but it would give us a Chone and a Shawon who have worn Cubs uniforms, and I guess you can never have enough of those. Maybe we can have a Chone-O-Meter.

By "real," do you mean a better fielder? Cuz it seems to me that stick-wise Theriot is a typical SS.

I mean someone who has the range and arm of a SS and who isn't a dumbass. Also, having a SS who doesn't pull a late season disappearing act year in and year out would be nice too.

Figgins name is being tossed around by a lot of clubs probably. Since he plays CF, 3B and 2B all serviceably (not great - but not terrible) and he has a highly marketable offensive skill set (speed and obp). I am guessing he will get a 10mm per year for 3/4 years type deal.

And at that price, I'd hope both Chicago teams pass on him.

I am curious as to how much payroll flexibility Hendry (or someone else) will have this offseason.

Yeah, because he's like a speedier DeRosa, he has huge value to a lot of teams. There was an article on ESPN about how he'd be a perfect fit for the Yankees.

You are lying. ESPN doesn't write about the Yankees.

Once they did. Some story about Babe Ruth. But very little coverage on them these past few years, you're right. Until the Figgins story.

His age and the amount of years he's going to want make me hesitant.
