That was an abysmal article, but I am sad the Cubs couldn't land Granderson.
Financially, it would have worked - he makes just $5.5 million this year - but the Tigers got a HUGE haul for him (and Jackson). I'm really not sure the Cubs could have/should have matched it.

See the thing is, you just made one actual point for getting Granderson that was better than any point Rogers made in his article.
Additionally though, they would have been on the hook for another 20-33 million in the 3 years after that, depending on if they picked up his option or not.
