Possible moves
#1
Just some names.

Felipe Lopez
Miguel Tejada
Xavier Nady
Joel Piniero

Reclamation pitchers:
Mulder
Sheets
Schmidt
Wang

Some are out of our price range, but the longer they sit, the lower their price tag gets.
I got nothin'.

I'd like Lopez and Wang.

Problem is though after you dump Bradley, there still is no obvious choice in the OF. Maybe we should simply look at a R/L platoon for CF and RF and get Reed back + someone else.

I like Nady, but he's a corner OF. Maybe get him and keep Fuk at CF and find a cheaper platoon partner for him.

Didn't Schmidt retire?

We have what...30-40 middle relievers under contract now? We ought to be able to get some decent platoon partners for the OF for some of that flotsam.

Count me in on the Felipe Lopez bandwagon. Btw- I Googled him for stats and such and it turns out he's married to this:

Not officially, but it looks like he's heading that direction.

<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->MLB.com's Ken Gurnick confirmed Wednesday that <b>Jason Schmidt</b> is likely to retire.

Schmidt filed for free agency last week, but it may have simply been a formality. "<i>Leaving my options open,</i>" he said.<i> "At this moment, no, I'm not thinking about pitching anymore. Down the road, I'm not sure. Initially, I'd say no way. I'm not planning on playing at this moment. In my mind, I retired when I left in August</i>."

The 36-year-old right-hander made just 10 starts during his three-year tenure with the Dodgers, finishing 3-6 with a 6.02 ERA. He has pitched 13 major league seasons, and, if truly done, will end his career with a 130-96 record, 3.96 ERA and 1,758 strikeouts.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

why not tejada and sheets for a year? i realize one is old and one is broken but tejada is still a decent hitter and if sheets can come cheap, why not give him a shot? he'd be motivated to beat milwaukee.
Wang.

I think Sheets is lookign for a big payday. Not sure he'll get it, but he won't be cheap at this point in time... Maybe if he's still unsigned in the spring.

I would love Tejada for a year.

Sheets will probably hold out for a 2 year deal, but will most likely get one in the same ballpark as Harden. I can't imagine we'd let Harden walk and then go after Sheets for the same amount of money. Sheets is a superior pitcher when healthy, but who knows what his status really is.
