Fat Bastard is an immensely obese, hardly able to walk (weighing a metric ton) gardener and henchman hailing from Scotland. His extreme size endows Fat Bastard with super-human strength as exhibited by his prowess in the Sumo ring from Goldmember. This makes him a formidable enemy for Austin Powers. Fat Bastard is noted for his foul temper, his frequent flatulence, his vulgar and revolting bad manners and his unusual eating habits, which include taste for Human infants (which he calls "the other other white meat") or anything that looks like a baby, e.g. small people. Fat Bastard has been a regular at Cub games since the early 80's when he tried several times (unsuccessfully) to eat the visiting San Diego Chicken.

Compare that to a true platoon player like Reed Johnson's splits. Nady's splits aren't too terribly different and I would say that it's common place to have that kind of a variance in splits for an average MLB hitter.

I think if we rest him enough, he will be just fine getting 300-400 ABs switching around between LF/RF/1B. All indications are that he is healthy now. Sure, it's a risk, but a high reward type risk that I can live with. It is nice to have a couple of versatile players like Nady and Baker too.

His platoon splits are pretty much average. He's not that much better at hitting lefties. It sounds like he'll be taking some of Kosuke's starts against lefties, but I think he'll do well filling in against righties when needed as well.
He has some good opposite field power. 15 HRs in 112 opposite field hits.
If it's on the ground, he's pretty much out. .509 OPS on ground balls.
Has a better OPS against finesse pitchers vs. power pitchers. It's likely that he can hit a breaking ball.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
His oppo power is what's always stuck out to me about his offensive game. I'd go as far to say as he drives the ball to right field better than about any right-handed hitter not named Manny Ramirez, Mike Piazza, or Sammy Sosa in the last decade.
And yeah, he's a very good breaking ball hitter. Stays on the ball really well like Aramis. That's why he drives the ball to right field so much as well.

Well, I would counter that starting pitchers still make the big bucks, while middle infielders with little power and a good glove can be replaced more easily. Different market, really.
And if Hudson hadn't settled for such a lowball contract last season as well, I might agree with you a little more. I think he's quickly becoming Kenny Lofton in many teams' eyes, albeit much younger.
