I like the Alternate Version a lot better than the album version of this track -- particularly the drums. It just seems a lot fuller to me. Makes me wish they used this version instead.

I was at the concert where he was standing on the bar in that video. It was the last song, and it was fucking awesome.
I wish that I believed in Fate. I wish I didn't sleep so late. I used to be carried in the arms of cheerleaders.

Weird new National video starring the funny chick from Flight of the Conchords and Sterling from Mad Men:

For some reason the video goes crazy and is all blurry about 10 seconds in for me. I had to click back several times before it cleared up. What an awkwardly awesome and bizarre video.
Anyway, that's possibly my favorite tune on the album, and I almost added it to my SOI mix. The brain eating part, of course, always gets me.

The video amused me but the song bored the hell out of me. I'm not a big fan of music that sounds like it was recorded by people laying in bed.

yeah that's always been my takeaway with the national...just not enough energy there. there doesn't seem to be much dynamic. for me i think it's his voice.

<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd--> i like that tune. i've only listed to boxer and the new one and since everybody loves those and I don't I never bothered to listen to their older stuff. if it's like this I might have to check it out.

Abel, Lit Up, and Mr. November are all pretty rockin'. But...there's also plenty of stuff more like Conversation 16. I love all of it, but I get why they aren't everyone's cup of tea.

Alligator is a pretty solid record as well, but Boxer is what got me hooked on them for sure.
