I think that had he performed at the same level he was performing at at the end of the year, all year, he would've been fine. I also think that a combo of him and Furcal would have been fine too. He just wasn't good enough to only get a half year out of him.

He wasn't worth 3 players or whatever it was that we gave up to get him, but I think Hendry's plan was to lock him up long-term. My biggest complaint was that we didn't even attempt to shop him at the deadline and just let him walk, didn't even get a draft pick in return. We basically lost 4 players between the trade and then not resigning Pierre in the end all because Hendry and McPhail couldn't make up their fucking minds on anything that season and offseason.
