That might as well be an error on Starlin. He has to charge that. But, he'll learn. These are the mistakes we're gonna have to live with for the next couple years with him.

That my friends, is why the Cubs have never won in our lifetime.
I hate my pretentious sounding username too.

I've been watching the Cubs more or less daily since about 1989. I've never seen such an embarrassing, fundamentally poor game as I did today. A high school coach would make their team run for hours after a showing like that. Just an absolute joke. They should all be ashamed of themselves and each deserve a punch to the face.

I just... I just can't believe that. This team sucks, they're dumbasses, and are crap fundamentally. But that was still just shockingly bad.
Let's try to think of just -some- of the things that went on in this game:
Cubs are down 1-0. There's 1 out, with Theriot at 3rd, Byrd at 1st, Nady up. Nady hits a flyball to center. Kind of deep, but not in "let's tag up and we'll easily make 2nd" territory, which is where it needs to be to think about advancing to 2nd in that situation. Byrd tags up, the throw and tag beat him at 2nd base, but Weeks dropped the ball. Theriot was sprinting home, and would've been out had Weeks held on to the ball, which means the run would not have counted.
Rundown all over the place with 2 outs. Rundown is taking way too long, and then to top it off, they can't even play catch. Tracy throws one away and the Brewers score.
Our pen is walking guys like crazy with a 1-run lead. Stevens comes in with the bases loaded and 2 outs, and is nowhere close, walks Braun to tie the game. Len and Bob each groan.
Routine flyball into right-center. Byrd and Fukudome are each going after it. Each then slow down, stare at each other like a couple of idiots, and the ball drops right in between them. Pop up priorities... these are things that SHOULD be worked on for a good amount of every single practice in Spring Training.
Tracy up to bunt in the 9th with a runner on 1st and no outs, because he was 0 for 4 with 3 strikeouts and a groundout that should've been a double play. Pops it up, play is dropped, but Brewers easily get out at 2nd base.
There was much more shit which my head hurts too much to remember right now. These are inexcusable things that don't all show up in the box score. Teams with much less talent win more games than we do because we continually do these things to lose games we easily should've won.

So Lou's closed-door meetings worked? Bring on the Sox.
